CAR VIDEO CAMERA INSTALLATION

Vehicle Safety and security is one our biggest priorities. Your vehicle should be equipped with all the necessary technology to assist you in whatever obstacle you may encounter while driving. A dash cam can help easily verify your account of events, while a front camera can help you get just as close as you need to what’s in front of you without touching it. A backup camera can help in those tricky situation where you can’t see exactly what is behind you.

Adding video cameras to your vehicle can really help improve your driving experience and sense of security/safety when traveling on any road trip.

CAR CAMERA VIDEO SYSTEMS

How are they Installed?

All camera systems need power. Your vehicles cameras are no different. Along with power the camera also needs a trigger, an action that will cause that camera view to appear on the screen. Most cameras will power on when the vehicle is turned on. This includes cameras that are hard wired or those that just plug into your cigarette lighter.

The cameras trigger will vary depending on the type of camera being used.  If it is a backup camera the trigger for the camera is when you place your vehicle in reverse. If it’s a front camera the trigger will activate when the vehicle is switched into drive. A blind spot camera’s trigger will initiate when you activate the turn signal switch. If your using a dash cam the trigger might initialize when the sensor in the camera detects a harsh movement.

You can add any of these types of cameras to your vehicle. The installation on every vehicle is different. Some vehicles can have the new cameras integrated into the factory display or rearview mirror. While others vehicles will require the replacement of the radio receiver or the rearview mirror to accommodate the new cameras. Almost all cameras can be hooked up to a secondary display if you don’t mind a second screen on top of your dashboard.

In order to install these camera systems into your vehicle there are some steps we follow for every installation.

Step 6: Reassembly

Just as we would with any other type of installation our technicians first perform the necessary research in order to complete the installation on your vehicle. This may include purchasing additional accessories or upgrading your radio before the install can be completed. With the proper accessories in hand we can begin disassembly of the vehicle and begin wiring our triggers to the correct inputs/outputs. These triggers are what will make sure you camera appears on the screen automatically when you shift your car into reverse and/or drive. After the wiring is complete we install any necessary integration components to convert the new camera video to a format your factory radio can display. Then we test the cameras and put it all back together so you can begin enjoying your vehicles new safety features.

If you are interested in a backup camera, dash camera, blind spot camera, or front camera reach out to one of our representative to obtain a quote and installation windows so we can help you add new safety features to your vehicle.
