Frequently Asked Questions

We will install almost all equipment you purchased online. You can use this link to setup an appointment https://mobilemaxaudio.com/schedule-an-appointment/

Just be warned that even though you are having the equipment professionally installed unless you bought it from an authorized online seller the manufacturer will not honor the warranty.

For example if you bought an amplifier off amazon and it stops working after being installed due to a factory defect or improper use the manufacturer of the amp will not replace it.

While it’s uncommon for new electronics to fail it does happen and you will be left with the bill or the replacement and re-installation.

If you are looking to have a radio you already have installed, new speakers or anything else 12v related the cost can vary tremendously from vehicle to vehicle. We have tried to streamline obtaining a quote for our customers. You can use the form at https://mobilemaxaudio.com/qet-a-quote/ here to get a quote today.

The reason why cost vary so much is due to the accessories needed to install the electronic component and the labor that is needed to access/remove/replace that part.

On a Toyota corolla replacing the radio takes 4 screws and the wiring is pretty simple, no smart harness or programming is necessary. But on that same vehicle replacing the speakers can be very time consuming, removing the door panel is straight forward but the speakers are riveted in the doors that you must drill out. Then you have to add a new mounting mechanism to the door so you can properly install the speaker. This could easily take roughly 30 minutes on each door, from removal to complete installation.

You can add a remote start to your vehicle even if it has a diesel engine or a manual transmission. Remote start installations can be tricky that is why we prefer to use t-harnesses for our installations. If a t-harness is not available we will often turn down the job as we don’t want to hack up any factory wiring.

If your car is under factory warranty you can still add a remote start and it will not void it.

If your car is a lease you can add a remote start and have it removed before you trade it back in.

If your car is brand new ex. from this current year there is a chance there is no firmware available for your car which means a remote start cannot be installed by us.

This is a hard question to properly answer.

Here is what we won’t do, we won’t change your oil or do any mechanical work to your vehicle.

What we will do is install anything 12volt related to your vehicle. So any accessories including alarms, remote starts, radios, amplifiers, speakers, speaker boxes, lighting we will instal. If what you bought needs to get hooked up to your battery in some sort of way we are your guys.

Sometimes it’s not about buying and installing something new but fixing what you already have. If an electrical component in your vehicle is not working that is not related to your drivetrain we will examine for you at an hourly diagnostic charge.

This a common service for DIYers who installed a piece of equipment and something has gone wrong. Their new amp hisses, or pops. The new set of speakers sound worse than the factory ones or their remote start isn’t starting their vehicle. Fixing someone else’s problem takes time and patience but we are prepared for the challenge.

Yes if you have a factory alarm you can add an aftermarket one they will work together. Your factory alarm’s main focus is to keep your vehicle from being stolen. The primary purpose of most aftermarket alarm installations is to keep the valuables inside from being stolen.

It is very common for you to assume your factory alarm will have all events covered but if a thief breaks your window are you sure the alarm will go off? It most cases the alarm will only go off if the thief opens the door not if they just break the window.

While not every single brand we carry is listed on our website you can view them here.

Where would you like to add the LEDs?

To the interior of your car? No problem.

To the exterior of your car? No problem.

As long as there is an LED bulb for the location you want to add it to and you can replace the bulb for an led one.

While some people may cringe at the thought of fixing someone else’s problem we welcome the challenge. If we are reviewing and existing installation you are billed an hourly diagnostic rate that must be paid whether we find the issue or not.

This means that if we spend 3 hours looking over your installation and can’t find the issue you are still responsible for the bill.

Yes we can. We would just like to inform you that the new installation may require accessories that weren’t required for your previous installation and some cars can’t accommodate the radio you might have used in the past.

Yes this is a very common practice in newer cars. Modern cars utilize the radio or head unit of the vehicle as a display to show all kinds of vehicle information not just audio related info. This makes replacing the head unit almost impossible.

There are solutions for using the factory radio to power an aftermarket sound system from simple line out converters to more complex DSPs and amp pros. These additional accessories allow you to use the factory radio and still create awesome aftermarket sound experience.

Yes! If you are looking to go loud be prepared to spend some serious money on the proper power infrastructure. An upgraded alternator, upgraded power wiring and additional batteries are essential when creating a system that is really going to shake the block.

If you think just getting an amp with a big number on it and doing nothing else is going to make your car loud you are in for a rude surprise.

An installation can take an hour or it can take 20 hours it depends on the system/accessories being installed. We find that our average installation time is about 4 hours. We have no problem installing used equipment but you must pay for it to be bench tested. If we cannot verify the equipment is fully functional before installing it we will not install it.

In modern cars there a ton of features packed into the factory radio such as a backup camera, lane departure camera, vehicle warnings and much more. Car audio accessories allow for the retention of most of these components, those that can’t be retained are replaced.

If you are worried about loosing a particular feature of your vehicles factory system reach out to one of our technicians today to discuss your options.
